Concrete Finisher
Responsibilities:
- Performs any of the following duties or any duties as directed by supervisor.
- Assists all concrete laborers with their responsibilities to prepare the area for concrete.
- Working as member of racially diverse crew in all types of weather conditions and in all types of environmental conditions.
- Assists in preparing sub-grade for concrete
- Bending, Forming, Tying, and Installing rebar as illustrated in plan or as directed by supervisor.
- Required to perform a variety of tasks including placing, finishing, protecting and repairing concrete.
- Operates a screed to level freshly placed concrete according to grade and depth specification.
- Smooth concrete surface using either a hand trowel, long handled “bull float” or powered float.
- Cut joints/grooves in concrete with edging tools to help control cracking.
- Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
- Monitor the wind, heat and cold as it affects the curing of the concrete.
- Fill forms or panels with wet concrete and vibrate, screed, trowel, or prepare surface, to ensure proper concrete settling and surfacing as necessary or as described in plan.
- Top off, screed, or float the top of wall with necessary tools as required.
- Assist in the overall cleanliness and organization of the shop area, jobsite & equipment, including tools, trucks & trailers.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Language skills to communicate clearly and effectively
- Valid Drivers License is a must
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test

- Must have good vision, stamina, good hand eye coordination and an ability to estimate size and dimensions.
- Skill in smoothing, finishing freshly placed concrete, applying surface treatments and restoring concrete surfaces.
- Required to perform task that include heavy lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping kneeling, crouching, crawling and reaching.
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
